Is MarginTap MTD-compliant for Income Tax Self Assessment?
Yes. MarginTap keeps digital records of every quote, invoice and expense in line with HMRC's Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, which went live on 6 April 2026 for sole traders earning over £50,000. The threshold drops to £30,000 in April 2027 and £20,000 in April 2028.
Does MarginTap handle CIS Domestic Reverse Charge VAT?
Yes. If you're a VAT-registered subcontractor on CIS work, MarginTap auto-stamps the invoice with the HMRC-required wording "Reverse charge: Customer to pay the VAT to HMRC", shows the VAT due without collecting it, and feeds the records into MTD quarterly digital submissions as required from April 2026.
How much does MarginTap cost in pounds?

Can I use MarginTap if I'm not VAT-registered?
Yes. Most UK sole traders earn below the £90,000 VAT registration threshold and don't charge VAT. MarginTap defaults to VAT-off and switches on cleanly the day your turnover crosses the threshold — including Flat Rate Scheme support if you've opted into FRS.
Does MarginTap work offline — on a site with no signal?
Yes. Quotes and invoices created with no signal queue locally on your phone and sync to the cloud the moment you get bars back. Quote a job in a basement boiler room, a loft, or out in the sticks — and never lose the work.
Can I send a quote kerbside and turn it into an invoice when the job's done?
Yes. Build the quote in the customer's drive, get a digital signature on the spot, and convert it to an invoice with one tap when the work's finished. Photos before-and-after attach to the job record. Same job number from quote to paid.
Does MarginTap connect to my accountant — Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Sage?
Bookkeeping export to CSV today, with native Xero and QuickBooks sync in the pipeline for late 2026. You can also share a read-only month-end pack with your accountant by link — no extra licence for them to pay, no second seat to license.
Is MarginTap available in Polish?
Yes. MarginTap ships in English (en-GB) and Polish (pl-GB) — the only UK invoicing app for tradesmen with a native Polish interface. Built for the Polish-passport trades workforce who run their books in Polish but invoice UK customers in English with GBP.
How does MarginTap compare to Powered Now and Tradify?
